If you’ve been dreaming of your next holiday and can’t quite decide where to go, then you should come along to the Maguire Coaches and Harvey World Travel Travel Expo on the 12th December 2008.
Hosting the event will be Maguire Coaches, a Chinchilla based Coach Company that offer a variety of charter, bussing and tour services to local and surrounding communities.
The first of its kind to be held in Chinchilla, the Travel Expo will combine presentations on various exciting travel destinations and show case the various services provided by Maguire Coaches.
This will be the stage for some major announcements including the winner of the 1000th Tour Booking with Maguire Coaches.
Maguire Coaches owner and operator, Kaye Maguire, said she was really looking forward to showing the community where Maguire’s can take you now through their new partnership with Harvey World Travel.
“This is such a fantastic opportunity for us to share with the community and the real benefit is that we can now offer all travel services locally,” Mrs Maguire said.
“It isn’t just an information day, we’re inviting everyone to come along and help us to celebrate some fantastic achievements that wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the local and surrounding communities.”
Maguire Coaches has been owned and operated by husband and wife team, Leo and Kaye Maguire, for the past 21 years.
Kaye’s parents began operating a school bus service in 1968 for the Pelican community North East of Chinchilla.
In 1987 Leo and Kaye commenced their first charter operations in the district with a 19 seat Toyota Coaster bus.
Leo and Kaye bought the school bus service from Kaye’s parents in 1988 and Maguire Coaches began to grow as the couple focused on operating clean, well maintained coaches and delivering the best service possible.
Kaye started researching local history and compiled interesting stories about real people of the area.
This became the trigger for tours of the town and district for patrons of conferences and special events.
Maguire Coaches then started to offer day tours to the many regional locations of great historical and cultural interests.
In 2005 the company started providing holiday tours the local community.
“In 2005 our first holiday tour was to Norfolk Island,” Mrs Maguire said.
“It was a great success! We were being asked, “Where are you taking us next?” So we asked the community “Tell us where to go!”, and before we knew it, we were planning tours locally and internationally.”
She said, since then they’ve taken groups on tour to New Zealand and Fiji and also to Melbourne along the Great Ocean Road, completed an in depth tour of Tasmania, explored the smaller communities of Western Queensland including Cameron’s Corner, Birdsville and Innamincka and cruised along the Murray River.
“2008 has been a fantastic year for the Company,” Mrs Maguire said.
“We have provided a variety of tours from 2 days to 20 days. We ensure the best highlights are included.”
“We keep in mind that not everyone can afford a big tour, so the smaller tours are just as special. It is very important to us that people are trusting us to ensure they have a great holiday and it is so easy – they just have to pack their bags, we look after the rest of the details,” she said.
“We’re celebrating 21 years in the business, our 1000th Tour Booking in the last 5 years that we’ve offered tours, is pretty fantastic, our new partnership with Harvey World Travel, the launch of our interactive website and the creation of our very own e-Travel Club – My Travel Club @ Maguire’s.”
Kaye Maguire said this travel expo is for everyone to be able to have the opportunity to visit the places they would really like to go or just to visit family or friends.
“So everyone can now do this locally, rather than deal with someone on the phone or have to drive hours away,” she said.
